Colombo City Centre
For all the city people there’s a whole lot of things to do in Colombo !
Pettah Market - crazy busy, but its culture central where you can buy practically anything. It is a great place to experience a very different part of Sri Lanka that’s not landscapes. If you like street photography, Pettah Market is a great place to wonder around!
The famous Jami Ul-Alfar mosque is located in the midst of Pettah and is an amazing piece of architecture to stop by
One Galle Face Mall - The newest and probably the biggest mall in Sri Lanka. You can find all the high end brands here, although the prices are more than the UK :/ There are however, a lot of other Sri Lankan shops, souvenir shops, food courts and restaurants. It’s best to visit at night because afterwards, you can go walk on the beach - Galle Face Green.
It’s nice during the day too but slightly colder at night and you can see all the lights of city including the Lotus Tower.
For the foodies, here’s a small list of restaurants and cafes within Colombo to try out:
The Dining Room at Cinnamon Lakeside - Buffet
Bars:
Kampong - speakeasy hidden behind a gram store (dry goods shop)
